This is a specialist training course leading to a Level 7 CMI Certificate in Management and Leadership. Upon completion of this week-long course and subsequent written tasks, the successful candidate will be awarded a Level 7 CMI certificate in Management & Leadership showing the CMI units achieved. In addition, the successful candidate will receive a transcript from the International Centre for Parliamentary Studies certifying the specialisation in Strategic Policy Planning: A Comprehensive Guide for Government Officials.

It provides the essential skills for understanding best practice in strategic thinking and planning, and also managing the policy process from beginning to end. It covers a comprehensive range of subjects such as: sourcing evidence, analysing and evaluating evidence, working with stakeholders in policy development, consultations, communicating policy options, option appraisal, delivery chains, making robust and realistic policy, evaluating and reviewing policy; principles of strategic thinking, creating strategies, implementing strategies; understanding strategic choice; strategy and communication; using strategic development tools and techniques, as well as structuring written work for assessment.
